Founded in 1978 by Tony Cant, Tony Cant Real Estate established a Maitland based agency to offer a professional and personalised service to local people when buying, selling, renting or requiring management of residential properties. In the early 1980’s the company expanded and the Medowie and Thornton office were opened by Ross Birrell.
The company soon realised the market potential and need for a real estate agent that offered more than just the facilitation of residential property. In the mid-1980s Tony Cant diversified the business operations to provide similar services for the commercial and industrial property sector.
The company’s view of the local area coupled with skilled and well respected staff soon resulted in Tony Cant Real Estate being the dominant force in residential, commercial and industrial property in the Hunter area.
In 2000, with over 30 staff employed in a range of property market specialties, Andrew Cant was appointed Managing Director of Tony Cant Real Estate. Tony Cant still remains a Director of the company. In its 30 year history Tony Cant Real Estate has grown from relatively humble beginnings to be one of the largest and most respected independent agencies in the Hunter and a true local business success story. Currently, as a team we have over 260 years of combined experience in the real estate industry. This experience combined with a modern, professional and community minded approach allows us to encapsulate honesty, quality service and results in every transaction.
